When my Bianchi Brava was stolen in Philly two years ago, I found it three weeks later in the pawn shop on South Street. I was alerted by someone who had seen the bike there and found my ad on Craig's list. Those guys knew they had bought a stolen bike... Try to find your bike's serial number so that you can prove ownership if it turns up. Also, definitely file a police report. Philly police takes bike theft seriously. I'm so sorry about this Amanda! I want to beat up whoever did this and get you your bike and helmet back. Since I've had my bike and computer, among other things, stolen I can really relate to the shitty feeling left behind, when people infiltrate your privacy and take things that do not belong to them. your things! UGH. If I were around, I would certainly be on the look out. good luck and safe returns!

Thanks Hils! I really love my hair short {and yours too!} and I think you're totally right about the long hair thing. I think some of us are just meant for short hair and we just need to give up the long hair fantasy. We'll never be happy with it!

I hear you, lady. I really love you with short hair, it super duper suits your face and personality. I am trying to grow mine out again (my best attempt was also right after I shaved mine in 06!) but when I look around at women with long hair I think it says little to nothing about who they are, or EVERYTHING. When my hair is longer it needs to be an insane color to let my freak flag fly, for sure.

I'd just recommend searching Amazon or something similar for "at home printmaking." To be honest I've never actually read any of the books - my printmaking interestes are pretty specific - but they do seem interesting if one is open to other methods than letterpress.

I don't do tutorials, mostly because the kind of printing I do requires a decent amount of equipment - which would make it difficult to just DO at home. There are easier ways to print at home though, and I do believe there were a couple books published recently about it!

One of the problems with polymer for me is that it forces me to design on the computer, which I'm absolutely awful at. What I like so much about wood/lead type is that it gives me finite possibility. Beyond what's in front of me there's nothing I can do {more or less}. If I have too many options {like on the computer} I can't do anything. I'm helpless. Infinite possibility makes me anxious.

That said, I am looking forward to working with my polymer plates when they arrive, just to see.

I understand your aversion to polymer (who doesn't love wood type?) but I think that you will grow to love it. Your printing possibilities are now limited only to the size of your platen. Have fun with!
